Times-News - Twin Falls, ID BLOG: Former Masonic Temple Set for Demolition to Make Way for Gas Station July 17, 2013 By Joe Cadotte TWIN FALLS - There was, at one time, a Masonic Temple on the corner of Blue Lakes Boulevard and Falls Avenue in Twin Falls. The building is now vacant, and the property's weeds overgrow city standards. The structure appears in good shape. Nevertheless, the former temple is set for demolition soon, according to Mitch Humble with the city’s building department. A permit request was made late last month to build a Maverik gas station at 883 Blue Lakes Blvd. N., meaning the temple will be destroyed, Humble said. “Complete demolition, take it completely out for a brand new build for the gas station,” he said. Sinclair is across the street from the future Maverik; eventually the two will compete for business, Humble said.
Neither Maverik or the Twin Falls Masonic Lodge have returned my calls.
