Can Christians be Masons?
Potsdam (kath.net / idea ) Different a Masonic meeting will be evaluated in the Potsdam Peace Church. During the Protestant Association for Philosophical Questions (EZW) is the transfer of evangelical worship partly questionable, it defends the parish council. Freemasons from around the world came together on February 1 in the Church of Peace in order to reactivate the Johannisloge "to ram". It was founded in 1776, but in 1981 declared dormant. Normally, the Freemasons hold their rituals behind closed doors. In Potsdam, a festive evening took place on the eve of the so-called "light introduction" place to which the public was admitted. At the ceremony the next day the Masons, however, remained among themselves.

EZW: church is a public place the exclusion of the public criticized the EZW-speaker radio Kai Schmidt (Berlin). The church is a space in which the gospel might be proclaimed publicly. To that extent should churches no closed events take place, he said, on request of the Protestant news agency idea. The Freemasons are valued by different churches. Thus, the EKD maintains a dual membership in a country church and a box for possible while the Roman Catholic Church and the evangelical movement's view of Christian faith and Freemasonry are incompatible. According to Schmidt's radio also is not clear whether and to what extent Masonic rituals understood as a means of "self-processing". That would contradict the Christian message of justification, according to which people are saved solely by the grace of God. church council: No reason, the Freemasons, the Church to deny A spokesman for the church council of the Potsdam Peace Church defended at the request of idea transfer of the Church to the Freemasons. There had been after the request calls within the governing body, but you saw no reason the Masons to deny the church. They would have made ??a proper use of application, have the after examination precluded anything. The spokesman for the Evangelical Church of Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia, Volker Jastrzembski (Berlin), told the idea, such decisions have to meet each community for itself. However, the Church urge their congregations to allow only those events that are compatible with the principles of the Christian faith and commitment. "Temple of Humanity" build Freemasons were found in the 18th century, first in England in boxes together. Track, according to the Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of Germany, Rdiger Templin, as the main concern themselves with their name, they remember the origins of the movement in the Middle Ages, when stonemasons and church builder, a fraternity for the transfer of trade secrets were the upbringing and education itself. Your secret meetings are considered "ritual work", with the "temple of humanity" continues to be built. In Germany there are about 470 Masonic lodges with 14,000 members. Worldwide, their number is estimated at three to four million. Famous Freemasons were the composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791), the poet Gotthold Ephraim Lessing (1729-1781) and the Prussian king Frederick the Great (1712-1786).

Jahrhundert zunchst in England in Logen zusammen.
