It�s one of the biggest fears for any parent: a missing child.
The recent abduction of Kienen Hebert from his B.C. home is only one of the many reminders of the dangers present for children. And on Oct. 1 the Macnab Lodge Masons will be providing information on a way to protect your children.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Macnab Masonic Lodge will hold an information session at Port Colborne High School for their MasoniCh.I.P. program.
MasoniCh.I.P., a program run by the Freemasons, gives families a child identification kit which includes fingerprint records, digital still photos, video interviews, dental impressions and DNA swabs.
Larry Payton, a Macnab Mason, said the program maintains privacy by only giving the identification information to the family. Once the kit is put together for the family to take home, the information is wiped clear from the Masons� computer system.
There is no registration required for the session, and interested parents can drop in anytime throughout the day. For more information visit their website at www.masonichip.ca.
