Eight million tribals to protect Pak-Afghan border

By our correspondent

BARA: A big tribal Jirga on on Sunday declared that eight million tribesmen would wage Jihad against American forces on the 1,600 kilometres long border with Afghanistan if it tried to start ground attack against the Taliban.

Representatives of all religious parties and various tribes attended the Jirga to decide future line of action under the present situation. The Jirga severely criticized the US bombing on innocent citizens in Afghanistan, adding the US forces were intentionally hurting the civil population to punish them for their support to the Taliban administration.

The questioned the logic behind blaming Osama bin Laden for attacks on the United States without presenting any proof. The Jirga said, "We accept the American war as a challenge and declare Jihad against Washington. We will continue this war against America till the emancipation of Muslims and restoring the glory of Islam."

The Jirga viewed that the only crime of Taliban was that they established a true Islamic government in Afghanistan. They vowed to turn Afghanistan a graveyard for the Americans for their aggression on that country. The tribal elders and religious leaders reiterated their commitment to render every sacrifices in the war against America, adding they would take part in the war physically, politically and financially and foil nefarious designs of the infidels to control the region by crushing Afghans.

The elders said they have deputed their people on the Pak-Afghan border and no foreign troops could cross into Afghanistan from this side of the border. They said the tribal people were united and would foil the nefarious designs of America.
